Washed fabric for the quilt I’m making with my mom. This evening we’ll press and cut it.
My best friend Sammy had her baby this week. I’ve been waiting to find out if it’s a boy or girl before doing any shopping (it’s a boy). I went to IKEA yesterday to get some fabric to make her a gift and these could work for a boy or girl. I love how IKEA fabric is so affordable and great quality. I have a couple of projects in mind… Hmm…
YAY! I got an iPad! So I decided to sew a sleeve with some fabric and cotton batting instead of paying for a case. Way more fun and creative.
Since I’m still a rookie sewer, I made a few mistakes and it’s kind of cobbled together, but I love this fabric and it serves the functional job of protecting my iPad well enough for now.

Completely tacky, but so much fun. Picked up a couple yards of oil cloth last week in NYC.
Can’t wait to make something with this!

Exercising my pouch-making skills… This one made from some IKEA fabric and some random polka dot fabric I picked up for almost nothing in a scrap bin.

Also picked up some fabric on my weekend jaunt to IKEA. Now that I know how to make a zippered pouch, I think one of these will soon be turned into one!

purlsoho looks like a great shop! I’m going to NYC in a few weeks… really want to check it out now!

…OOOHHH! Let’s make stuff!!!!!
So, my learning to sew adventures continue. So far I’ve only made pillow cases and today, I made more. It’s fun! Going to get a little more adventurous soon though.
A couple months back I bought a bed skirt on sale from Pottery Barn for $30. I’d been looking for something to cover up my ugly metal bed frame and I like this navy and white stripe (pictured below, excuse the cat fur). So, when I got this navy and white fabric last week from Etsy, I thought it would make a nice pillowcases to match (also pictured below). And voila! I think it looks all right.

A couple of more fabric finds at Value Village this weekend. I really love this purple velvet; it’s in perfect condition!
